TLC for Everyone

The Tri-Community Health & Wellness Foundation and the TransAlta TriLeisure Centre in conjucntion with various agencies and organizations in the tri-community region are pleased to provide an opportunity for more ecoomically disadvantaged tri-community residents to access recreational facilities at a subsidized rate.

Through various community service organizations applications for the subsidized rate may be granted by the Tri-Community Health & Wellness Foundation.

WE are greatful to the Stony Plain Rotary Club, Community Initiatives Program and our MLA Doug Horner for the direct support of this project.

.

Portable Ultrasound for WestView Health Centre Emergency Department

The Tri-Community Health and Wellness Foundation have purchased a portable ultrasound system for the Emergency Department of the WestView Health Centre-Stony Plain.  Three years of fund raising efforts through the annual Festival of Trees, topped off by an $8,000 donation from the Stony Plain & District Health Centre Auxiliary, raised the $45,000 needed to purchase the new portable ultrasound.

The portable ultrasound will be used for assessment of blunt trauma injuries, inflammation / enlargement of internal organs and procedures such as chest tube insertion.  This will provide ER physicians an additional tool in emergency clinical assessment.

The ER physicians and staff thank the Foundation and all donors for supporting this purchase.
