Portable Ultrasound for WestView Health Centre Emergency Department
The Tri-Community Health and Wellness Foundation have purchased a portable ultrasound system for the Emergency Department of the WestView Health Centre-Stony Plain. Three years of fund raising efforts through the annual Festival of Trees, topped off by an $8,000 donation from the Stony Plain & District Health Centre Auxiliary, raised the $45,000 needed to purchase the new portable ultrasound.
The portable ultrasound will be used for assessment of blunt trauma injuries, inflammation / enlargement of internal organs and procedures such as chest tube insertion. This will provide ER physicians an additional tool in emergency clinical assessment.
The ER physicians and staff thank the Foundation and all donors for supporting this purchase.
The first being the Westview Health Centre.
The second area of support low income indivduals and families with passes for leisure activites at the TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre.,
The third area of support is Community Health & Wellness Programming promoting healthy choices, acitive living and enpowerment.
